Person-Note* James Chamberlin farmed and served as a Captain in First Regiment of the First
Brigade of the Indiana Legion in the Civil War. Family tradition says they
moved to oregon in 1865 via the Mississippi River, the Isthmus of Panama,
landing at San Francisco, then on to Portland, OR were they brought wagons
and traveled down the Willamette Valley.
