Person-Note* Farmer and stock raiser, Sec. 25, P.O. Carrollton, Ill. Was born on land that
is now Roodhouse, which was owned by his father E. Bandy at that time, who is
one of the oldest settlers of Greene County. Was educated in subscription
schools, the first school he attended was a log structure with a dirt floor,
and the old time fire place, and the seats were rude benches made of slabs
with no support for the back, being reared in an early day, he was seen some
of the privations of the earlier settlers of Greene Co. Hist. of Greene Co.
