Lori Rosen

Person-Note* Lori was a lovely young lady, not only in looks, but in spirit. She always had a smile.
Her hobby in High School and College was making jewelry. She made some beautiful pieces.
Lori decided at age 19 to become a little independant from her parents, and rented her own little 'pad', which was a guest house behind a home in Montecito, Calif. just a couple of miles from her parent's home. She was home every day, and she and her mother were having fun decorating her first little place with plants, etc.
She was only there a short time, and someone broke into her place one night and murdered her. That perpetrator was never found, and her murder has remained unsolved.
A beautiful, young life was snuffed out for no apparent reason.

Sherry Lynn Bandy

Person-Note* Sherry was the eldest child of Roger and Mary Bandy. She was a pretty child, healthy and active.
After High School, Sherry met and became engaged to a young man that her parents were very fond of. She was 19, planning a dream of a lifetime wedding, and she and her fiance decided to go out to a movie. On their way home, they were struck by a DRUNK DRIVER, and both of those beautiful, young lives were snuffed out.
Sherry's father, Roger, was a paramedic, and on duty at the time. He was the one called to the scene of the accident. What a heartbreak. He was never able to work in that capacity again.
Sherry and her fiance were buried together. Their passing left a permenant scar on the lives of the whole family. One drink, and none of us will drive!

John Garfield Varela

Person-Note* Johnny was born Aug 18, 1966, the second child of Helen and John Varela. He was a strong, healthy boy with lots of energy. He looked very much like his Great Grandfather, Jack Knabe.
If you wanted to keep him out of trouble and know what he was doing, all you had to do was say you needed help with some chore, and he was in his element - he loved to help.
One incident that gives a small insight to his personality happened one day when he and his sister, Laurie were playing out front of their home with neighborhood children, and Johnny said a 'bad word', and (of course), Laurie said she was going to 'tell'.
She went in and got their mother, and the two of them searched all over for Johnny. He was finally found - in the bathroom, washing out his own mouth with soap! (If he did it himself, he might not get so much soap in his mouth).
At age 5, Johnny could ride a 2 wheeled bicycle, and one day, just 3 days before Christmas, he and Laurie were spending a few hours with their Grandmother Varela. They were out in front of Grandma's house, and Johnny was riding that bike he was so proud of. He took a tumble, and fell behind a street cleaner. The driver was backing up to get a spot he had missed, and could not see Johnny. It sucked him right into the machine. He lived for only a few minutes. His sister sat and held his hand (the only visable part of him) until the ambulance arrived.
We'll see that little angel again someday. He is in the Lord's care.
