They sailed from Plymouth on 5 September 1849 on the ship 'Andromache' and arrived at Port Phillip Bay (Point Henry Geelong) on 24 December 1849. The barque 'Andromache' (468 tons - about the same size as 'The Endeavour') under Captain M. Passmore took 110 days for the journey. The cost was £12.14s.10d. per head except for children under 12. The Bandys originally lived at Barrabool Hills near Geelong, but in the 1850's, moved to Waubra (known then as The Springs). In 1873 they then moved to Jeffcott near Donald, Victoria.5
