NOTE: She said he was a "Universalist;" partly French descent; of a happy, tender-hearted disposition; would not stay home when animals were slaughtered for meat.
While at his son's home, his daughter in law, Mary (Polly) Jewel, took him to bed with a light; when he got there and into bed he said, jokingly: "Oh god Pol (Polly), I forgot to say my prayers." Was said to believe that everyone would go to heaven. She said there was evidence that he married twice in Botetourt. She had seen his wife's
name spelled Grayham.

Person-Note* Jeremiah married Ruth Cooley, aged 14, daughter of Colonel Benjamin and Ruth (Beach) Cooley, grandaughter of Benjamin and Mary (Needham) Cooley.

They moved to Essex County, New York and lived there for about 10 years and then moved back to Vermont.

He died at Vergennes, Vermont on November 1, 1845 at age 80 years 8 months and 10 days.
