· Thomas Bandy (110, 15-1) (June 22, 1748 - October 18, 1835) was born in Cumberland County, Virginia. He enlisted as a private from Bedford County, Virginia on August 1, 1781, He was in the Battle of Guilford Court House and the siege of Yorktown. He was executor of his father’s will. He lived in Botetourt County, Virginia before he moved to Tennessee where he died. Thomas married twice, first to Mary Polly Christian (110, 15-2) ( ? - about 1776) on November 22, 1768 and then to Nancy Burns (111, 15-0) (March 1757 - August 12, 1852) on October 12, 1777 in Bedford County, Virginia. Thomas was listed in the Virginia census for 1810 and the Tennessee censuses for 1820 and 1830. Nancy is listed in the Tennessee census for 1850 as age 95. Son Richard from Thomas’ first marriage died before Thomas moved to Tennessee. Sons Cary and Thomas from the first marriage moved to Tennessee where they remained. A Thomas, probably the son, is found in Kentucky in 1800 indicating that part of the family at least was in Kentucky before moving on to Tennessee. See Chapter 10. Four sons from Thomas’ second marriage moved to Illinois: Elisa by 1820, Horatio by 1830, and James and Robert Dobson by 1840.
