Dear Derek,
My name is Tracy Ann McKay (nee Bandey). I am the daughter of Peter Wallis Bandey & Heather Sandra Bandey (nee Duncan). I have an uncle, Michael John Bandey and he is married to Ann Bandey (who just recently passed away from cancer). They have three sons, David, John and Gavin Bandey. My paternal grandfather was David Wallis Bandey (a methodist minister and academic
doctor) and he was married Florence Mary Bandey (nee Brecknock). We are the only Bandey's in South Africa. If you have any information relating to my family I would appreciate it if you let me know. My grandfather started a family tree many years ago before he died. We don't really know where that info is, but I would like to recreate that family tree. I know there was some family in England. My grandfather's brother Tom (Thomas) died a few years ago. He was married, I can't remember her name so well, I think it was Edith, and they lived in Truro, Cornwall. Then we had some cousins that lived in Leominster, but their surname wasn't Bandey, although they are from the Bandey side of the family. But that is about as much as I can remember. I hope you can give me some feedback. Tracy
Derek,
I have just been looking at the site for the first time and see a recent communication from Tracey McKay ref South African Bandeys. My mother was Barbara Bandey and her brother was David Wallis Bandey who was Traceys grandfather. Tracey refers to Edith who was married to Thomas Bandey and lived in Truro. This is correct except that her name was Enid and not Edith.
Chris Watson
Derek, Chris is an uncle that my mom and I visit very briefly when we went to England in 1983. I remember him quite well as his daughter and I get on very well. He is right. Barbara was married to uncle Bernard, who married aunty Joan after Barbara's death, and they lived on a farm in Norfolk, if I remember correctly. Wow, thank-you so much. I will send him an e-mail shortly. - [S25] Researcher: Peter G Jones' complete extract of the GRO Index :PJ: GRO 3a 1462(D:14).

:my Grandfather. Walter Berty Bandy was the son of Thomas Bandy born 1877 and Temperance Stanman Bandy born 1879. My father (Peter Harold) identified that Thomas Bandy's father was Jonah Bandy. This seems to fit with the 1881 census which put the family in Milton Bryant. The Mormon site then takes the family back further through James Bandy (1809 Houghton Regis) - to Joseph Bandy (1774 Houghton Regis) - to Thomas BANDEY (c 1742 Houghton Regis). - [S101] Derek BandyFind My Past, "1939 Register" :FmP: 1939 Register: RG101/0967E/002/27 Letter Code: BXBY.
